Authorities say they captured an inmate who escaped this morning from a state prison.
The Department of Public Safety says Shanendoa Hunt escaped from the Robeson Correctional Center. He was found around 10:30 a.m. at a home home off Pittman Road near Lumberton.
The 37-year-old man was serving an eight year sentence for multiple convictions of breaking and entering as well as a misdemeanor conviction for assault with a deadly weapon. Prison officials say Hunt was scheduled for release in 2015.
The man has a lengthy criminal record with multiple convictions from Robeson County dating back to 1996.
Hunt will face charges of felony escape, according to state prison officials.
Robeson Correctional is a minimum security state prison in Lumberton with some 270 inmates.
