Inland Counties Watching & Waiting

As the exact path of Hurricane Irene is still uncertain, inland counties are in a wait and see game on what steps should be taken to ensure the safety of its residents.

Pitt County Emergency Management officials are waiting for each and every advisory on Hurricane Irene before deploying their emergency plan.

Both the county and the city of Greenville say the track of Irene will determine the amount of response to activate. For now the emergency management director says they're in a holding pattern.

Pitt county officials are stressing people have an emergency preparedness kit with supplies for at least 3 to 5 days.
