A vehicle in a funeral procession landed on its side after a crash on a busy Pitt County highway.
The accident happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 33 and L.T. Hardee Road, just east of Greenville.
State troopers say an SUV was part of the funeral procession and had stopped at the end of L.T. Hardee Road, trying to make a left turn onto Highway 33.
An oncoming car hit the SUV on the driver's side, causing the SUV to flip over. Firefighters had to cut open the roof, and removed two women inside. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to Vidant Medical Center, all with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say charges are pending in the accident.
