A mother accused of starving her children pleaded guilty to some of the charges against her.
Twenty-nine-year-old Janet Anderson is in the Onslow County jail after her day in court. The Jacksonville Daily News reported that Anderson pleaded guilty to felony child abuse and four related misdemeanors. Anderson was sentenced to between 20 and 33 months in prison.
Anderson and her husband, Larry, of Hubert were accused in August of child abuse charges. Investigators said the Camp Lejeune Marine and his wife put duct tape on their children's mouths, locked them in rooms and did not feed them enough.
Larry Anderson is also charged with taking indecent liberties with a child. His court date is Tuesday.
