A high school teacher who was charged with bringing a gun to school has been in trouble with the school system before.
William Wiberg was arrested after a hunting rifle was found in his car that was parked at J.H. Rose High School.
Pitt County School officials say Wiberg is a social studies teacher at Rose and is now on unpaid suspension.
Earlier this year the school system says Wiberg was put on 30 day suspension, but they can't elaborate. Wiberg has worked for the school system since 1999.
The school system says they received a tip the rifle was in plain view in Wiberg's car.
School officials also say they do not believe there was any ill intent from Wiberg.
