Heat Wave Wednesday

A surge of very hot air will move into eastern North Carolina on Wednesday. Highs will reach the middle to upper 90s during the afternoon. High temperatures combined with moderate relative humidity will send heat indices to about 105° during the late morning and afternoon. A Heat Advisory may be issued on Wednesday morning. The heat will continue into Thursday but temperatures will cool slightly at the end of the week. Only isolated thunderstorms are expected through Thursday. We may see an increase in shower activity as we approach the weekend.
