Heat Advisory Posted For Eastern North Carolina

Intense heat is surging into eastern North Carolina and will stay in the area through Saturday. A heat advisory has been posted for the entire area from noon to 8:00 pm Friday. Highs will hit 100° or slightly higher across most inland communities while coastal residents will see highs closer to 90°. The relative humidity will be increasing as well so heat indices will range between 105° and 110°. There will be lots of sunshine on Friday so folks should find ways to stay out of the heat, especially during the afternoon.

More of the same can be expected for Saturday although we may see an increase in thunderstorm activity late in the day or at night. Temperatures will fall back close to 90° by Sunday with a better chance for showers.

My grandparents had no AC. They all lived to a ripe old age and stayed active. We've become so out of shape physically. If Progress Energy can't hang, my generators can- LOL

Who said anything about never leaving.I have visited Japan and have been to Europe to visit family members.I have been to just about every state. Now with that said I am pretty sure that it is cold in NY in the winter time.Speak what you know not what you assume.Assumptions are the worst form of communication known to man.

It's July. It's summer. It's the South! Besides where are all of the "heat dome" reporters like we had last week? Oh, they're busy haggling our politicians about the debt "crisis" now.

You're kidding! You really don't think we all know about the heat? You have to post an advisory? We all leave the house and realize we're now living in Arizona! You (WITN) seem to relish in telling us how flipping hot it is and has been and will be! Instead - why not post a story about someplace cool and wet! Give me a break!
