Update On Hearings For Murder Suspects

Suspects in two murder cases in Pitt County were in court Tuesday.

28-year-old Sandy Etheridge is accused of shaking her ten-week-old son so violently that he suffered fatal brain injuries.

Etheridge had her case continued.

Meanwhile, a former police officer accused of killing his fiance was also in court. Arthur Ridenour is accused of killing Teresa Foster. Foster's body was found burned and she had been shot outside the couple's home on Sweet Gum Church Road in Stokes in August.

Ridenour's attoney asked the judge to put his client on house arrest or release him on a secured bond while he awaits trial. The judge denied the request. His bond remains at a half a million dollars. His trial is set to begin may 23rd.

Deputies say Ridenour told them his girlfriend had set herself on fire and then shot herself. After an investigation and a ruling from the Medical Examiner's Office, Ridenour was indicted on a charge of murder.

To Bobby and anyone else who agrees with him. Obviously, there are so many details you don't know. Please don't comment anymore and look even more foolish.

It will be interesting to see how things turn out. What's appaling the most however is your lack of deciency and respect for the law. people like you will ensure he will not get a fair trial in this county. It was horrible what happened. However, just because you lost someone does not give you the right or anyone else to be jude, jury and executioner. You need to remember that unless you saw what happened, you cannot convict him for something you have no clue wether or not he did it. Let the court decide. Hopefully, it will be in a courtroom somewhere away from this county or the surronding counties. If you were in his shoes you would wnat the same consideration. An yes the TRUE facts will come out. Wait and see.

It comes as no shock that peope like Teresea's siater and Anonymous would rahter resort to vigalanti type justice than let things procede legally. Were you there? Did you see Ridenour actually do what he is accused of? Were there witnesses? Obviously not or they would ahve come forward. I say let justice prevail. Better to be tried by 12 than lynched by an angry mob with no clue as to things like due process and legal justice.

hmmmm...ineresting is right. We will see. But a fair trial in this county he will not get. There are a lot of interesting facts about Foster that have not been released. Those who are truly "in the know" know more than some "people" are saying. Oh and convicting a man before he has had his day in court is the main reason he will not get a fair trial in this county or anywhere near here. Remember, innocent until PROVEN guilty! It's NOT the other way around. I am sorry for what happened, but let the legal system work for once. The PCSD could not prove anything, that's why it went before the DA. Convicting someone before they go to court is nothing more than crazy. Everybody deserves a chance to plead their case.

It make me sick that you would even make a comment like "this is going to get interesting" HOW CAN MURDER OF A MOTHER GRANDMOTHER SISTER AND DAUGHTER BE INTERESTING????? It's horrible and she didn't deserve it."Shocking truths" he has a plenty. But it will come out.He will get a fair trail in Pitt Co. because the people will judge him not you or me.

@ Bobby, there is no "shocking" truth about Teresea. She was and still is a wondeful women who had her troubles and did nothing wrong, Ridenour shouldn't even get a court trial in my opinion, he should recieve the same punishment that he put onto her, he souldn't be able to live a day to day life getting free food and a free place to fair. He will get what he deserves.

Ridenour deserves his day in court. Unfortunately he will not get a fair trial in Pitt County. The true facts will come out and those who doubt him will be in for some shocking truth about Ms. Foster. Stick around, this is going to get interesting!

SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS! I see where you want closure. Blees you. In this same comment after reading this if found "guilty beyound a reasonable doubt", he drops 6' from a 12' platform. No rehab, no therapy, no life in a nice cell with amenities, NO SECOND CHANCE! I am tired of people that take lives getting off easy.
