Former Havelock Teacher's Court Date Postponed

A former Havelock teacher was scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday after he was arrested for child exploitation.

But Matthew Metcalf's appearance was postponed until June 3rd in Craven County.

The 39-year-old former teacher was charged with three counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor. There are no reports of illegal contact with students.

Metcalf resigned from his position as a fifth grade teacher at W.J. Gurganus Elementary following his arrest.

I know him from the school. I had no idea, he didn't seem out of the ordianary. It's sad really. The rest of school wasn't notified just his class. So if we didn't watch the new we didn't know.

I find this just disgusting. Yet another reason to not feel safe with my child being in a school. I guess my sister in law has the right idea by home schooling her children. What is this scumbag accused of doing and to whom?

It sure seems suspicious that there are no comments on this website or Havelock News or Sun Journal. Usually many, many comments on a subject like this. HHHMMMM curious......

All the normal commentators were lifted over the weekend during the rapture. Or maybe they just want us to -think- they were.
