No matter what the weather does Thursday morning, drivers in Havelock will no longer have to make time for delays and detours because of work on a railroad crossing.
Havelock Police says they finished picking up detour barricades at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, and traffic patterns are back to normal now.
That's because drivers aren't only detouring around Highway 70 in Havelock where a railroad crossing is being replaced, they're also detouring around the businesses.
Few customers stopped in the Dunkin Donuts on Highway 70 Monday. Manager Josh Warden says normally they have around 300 customers before lunch. Monday that number was less that 50.
Liz Cordova manages the Little Caesars and says Monday was slow for them as well.
There are detours set up for drivers to get around.
