Halloween Party Ends In Murder

Halifax County deputies say a man was stabbed to death after a fight broke out outside a Halloween party over the weekend.

According to deputies a Halloween costume party was held at the VFW Post in Roanoke Rapids, when a fight broke out in the parking lot.

Another fight later broke out involving the same people on Mill Street. Deputies say Joshua Green was stabbed twice in the side and cut on his neck. Green was driven to the hospital by friends, but did not survive his injuries.

43-year-old Curtis Edwards of Roanoke Rapids and 23-year-old Kasey Tanner of Roanoke Rapids have been charged in the murder of Green.

Both are in jail with no bond. Their first court appearance is set for December 7th.

@smh, you are so right, the DOC website is open to the public and the truth is right there for the world to see, they both had a back ground and more than likely would continue their career as offenders...dumb part is 2 on 1 with weapons, why can't you fight with your fists and show who the real men are, but no gotta have a weapon and kill someone, so now pay the price and have a nice time in prison, they deserve every day of the consequences!!

I am glad you agree with me. People don't fight with their fists like they did back in the day. Now everybody is throwing their life away by pulling out a knife or gun and earning themselves a prison cell.

It's a shame this happened. This was my uncle, & he was way too young. Reality hasn't hit me yet, i still can't even believe it.. I'm extremely sad. These men deserve to rot in jail. I love you Josh. God rest your soul, you will NEVER be forgotten. We will meet again... <3

What is going on with our society? It is very sad for both families in this altercation, losing a son to murder and the others being put away for life, prayers to their families, they are the ones that are suffering, not the one who stabbed and killed, you're gonna live the high life in prison for the rest of your life!! High life means you still have your life, you get three meals a day, one hour on the yard and tv time, and what does the victim get, to never see his family again? You deserve to sit and rot forever!!

Shame the victim didn't have a CCW and a hand gun in his pocket. He could have killed these two and saved us the tax dollars to house and feed them. Too late John! I've got a closet full of guns. Better move back to Massachusetts, or is it Taxachusetts?

This is why you should NEVER give someone from NC guns OR knives. Too many scrambled brains around here.

How tragic. How many more innocents will be harmed because of not locking up evil criminal pigs who have no respect for life, Americans? Enough with people saying "too expensive"!!! Put the ones who deserve to be locked up, in prison. THEN worry about where to cut costs. I say, start with food. ONE feeding a week will keep them alive- and if they were to deserve letting out, they will be in no condition to harm anyone for a good long while.

If your cousin wouldn't have a background it wouldn't be up there to see. They were bound to do somehting dumb and they sure did prove it! And not to mention it was a 2 on 1 fight. What a shame.
