Gun Found At Cape Fear High School

Two days after a student was critically shot, a gun was found on the campus of Cape Fear High School outside of Fayetteville.

Cumberland County deputies arrested two men after they found a handgun in their vehicle. Canaan Wynder and Tristen Gibbs, both of Fayetteville, have been charged with felony possession of a firearm on school property. The two are both graduates of the high school.

Deputies say they became suspicious after noticing their car in a rear parking lot of the school. Wynder, who was a passenger, told deputies he was dropping his girlfriend off at the school.

On Monday Catilyn Abercrombie was shot in the neck outside the school at lunch. Two people have been charged with her shooting.

That concept died many years ago - along with their souls.

(Hold it)#1 there is no game animal allowed to be taken in NC with a handgun. #2 unless you live under a rock everyone knows "no guns on school property".

I understand that you can not hunt with a handgun. I am simply saying calling these individuals "animals" and "monsters" is premature. I know the law says no guns on school property, but I also know that I went to a high school were every other truck you saw had a gun rack in it and more often then not it was occupied.

Both of you are wrong. You can take deer, bear and wild hogs with a handgun, subject to restrictions.

You actually CAN hunt in NC with a handgun. There are certain restrictions though. Last time I checked the gun must have at least a 6 inch barrel, and at least .38 caliber.

These are not the individuals that shot that poor girl. They are two people that had a handgun in a vehicle that may have been just been dropping someone off. We live in North Carolina you can not tell me that during hunting season there is not at least one vehicle a day that drops a kid off at school with a gun on board. Now if it turns out to be a more sinister plot then lock them up but I am sick of seeing people found guilty in the court of public opinion.

Yes, I'm sure that someone at some point drops their kid off at school and has a gun in the car,.... BUT, it is illegal to have a gun on school property, and if found with one, you will be arrested. And I'm sure these two were just a couple of avid hunters.

I agree----there has to be something done---our children do not have a chance to live a full life with monsters like this around. We need to pray, but we also need to have better laws out there. I agree with citizen when he says to either lock them up for life or put to death. We let these monsters go, and most of the time they break the law again. What has become of our youth??????

Schools are more concerned about keeping GOD out, than being focused on what's coming in.....

You want impactt? Go back to public hangings - if you steal, one hand cut off, if you rape, well you know what happens then, if you murder, well a true 45 behind the courthouse would be attractive - just to the side of the temple. Do it like the 3rd world countries do........... they may be in war .......THEY DO NOT PUT UP WITH CRIME.

We need to get these animals out of our schools. And off the streets too. Lock them up. Make them eat rice and water, and do hard labor for the rest of their days. Or they can be put to death if prosecuted, their choice.
