Guilty Plea In Murder At Pizza Hut

A Duplin County member of "The Bloods" will spend the rest of his life in prison after admitting to killing a Pizza Hut employee two years ago.

Mario Brown pled guilty this morning in Kenansville to first degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

District Attorney Ernie Lee says back on June 9, 2009 Antonio Fenner was working inside the Wallace Pizza Hut when Brown pulled up in a car and fired multiple time into the restaurant through the window. Police say six shots were fired, two of those hitting the victim.

A state trooper stopped the fleeing vehicle with four people inside. Wallace police were able to identify the gunman thanks to surveillance video at the restaurant. Lee says during a police interview, Brown said he was a member of "The Bloods" gang.

it is not believed the victim had anything to do with gangs.

The D.A. says the plea deal was offered to Brown after consulting with Fenner's family.
