Greenville Couple Busted For Drug Trafficking

A husband and wife are behind bars in Pitt County charged with trafficking opium or heroin.

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office says its narcotics unit, along with the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force, charged 50-year-old John Earley III of Greenville with trafficking the drugs and 24-year-olkd Amy Earley of Greenville with conspiring to traffic. They lived at a home on Memorial Drive. John Earley's bond was set at $25,000. Amy Earley's was $26,000.

    Regardless of the race these individuals bond should be set according to their previous criminal record. All of this is taken into consideration when a bond is set. The bond can also be raised during their first apperance if the judge sees necessary. I agree there have been many instances where bond has been set higher for individuals. But facts are facts, many people of color have been discriminated against in bond settings. Ratios can be wrong beacuse all instances of crime are not reported, therefore you do some research Family. If you saw them having trouble in the past you should have came to there defense then and gotten them some help. So maybe the NAACP may need to look into it. But let's get over pulling the race card, because racism is always going to exsist as long as there is ignorance. God Bless!!

    For those that want to see a picture of recent arrests go to, click on the picture of handcuffs. There you will see updates of all arrests in Pitt County. I had no idea of how many were being booked in 1 day. It is like that everyday. I assume the Detension Center stays full day and night LEO's you are doing a good job.

    You can commit murder in Beaufort County and not get a bond that high.

    NOW IT"s Time for someone to step up in Pitt County (NAACP)where are you inmates and offenders please speak out wow i can't believe their bond is this low when we've all read previous articles or know that type of drug your bond would be much higher and their picture should be disclosed for the public there is not enough information what is it WITN they're your relatives or neighbors which one and i hope my comment gets posted. this is some dirty work going on somewhere behind Pitt County magistrate office at PCDC now let's begin investigation opium or heroin $25,000 hummmmmmmmmmmm I'm feeling weiry about this one hope others see this one............. WITN can we please see pictures are was it not enough drugs to list

    The Earley bird catches the worm. But it also get's busted for selling drugs.
