NEW INFO: Pictures Released In Greenville Store Robbery

Police now have release surveillance video and photos of a gunman who robbed a Greenville convenience store last week.

The Oasis Convenience Store on Greenville Boulevard was robbed Wednesday night, just before midnight. Sgt. Joe Friday says the man went into the store, pulled a hand gun on the clerk and got away with some cash.

The robber is a black man, about 6’ tall with a thin build. He has short hair and ear-rings. He has a tattoo on his left arm with script writing.

If you can identify the robber, call Greenville police at 252-329-4176.

Why do these stores place the cameras near the ceiling? We don't need pictures of the top of these thugs hats and hoodies. Why not conceal the camera at FACE level?

if you get your police force on it you can zoom in on his face and will be able to know who he is

Reading all these crazy comments is funny... Ya, Greenville sucks. But we all have to deal with something these days. All the comments on welfare and the young mothers are really stupid. Do you really think it is all her fault? Really, get a clue people. These young girls grew up with no daddy to guide them and a single middle aged mother that can't show her a good example, because the family morals have broken down so much within the last 2 decades, so she only does what she sees. Let's put the blame on where it should be, that sorry a-- boy who wants to scare an innocent clerk and get a free pack of gum just because he thinks he is entitled to it. Thank God the police are working as hard as they are to help cut down on some of this crime. As for the mayor, his wife and Wal-Mart, wow didn’t know about that one. Guess that news wasn’t as big as some of the other headlines WITN reports on.

This robber is probably wearing the same red hat and sitting, chatting with the officers that man the substation in West Greenville. Oh I forgot there are no officers at the substation only Cars... Sorry

My only comment is that WITN has taken my first amendment right to post ANY comment. They are like 10 for 10 not posting my comments, but the good old boys are still up here spouting their racist views.I will continue to fight the fight for truth and justice, but WITN is going to do their part to silence some, and promote a few.

Maybe that's why they won't post my comments. They are usually in rebuttal to Said Nuff!

Each county should enforce certain criteria on their welfare recipients, such as if you have kids in school and the mother doesn't work then she should have to volunteer (did I say Volunteer?) so much of her time to the childs school and/or other county facilities,,,court house, library etc... I'll bet that would change things.

I'm sure Lavon would pardon these robbers and say they are upstanding citizens. Those robbers are probably some of his family.

East Greenville is becoming the new West Greenville. Only when we stop young girls from having babies to get a bigger check and start taking away benefits when these people are convicted of crimes will things change. People who receive government welfare, food stamps, child support, free apartments & free phones should be required to be a morally upstanding citizen. They should lose all their benefits for a year with no infractions before qualifying for benefits again if convicted of a crime. And I'm not talking about parking tickets! It's not right that hard working people have to support people who have no morals, no child raising skills & no desire to work. When I was growing up, we were very poor, but we didn't steal to make our way. We worked hard & we had pride, respect & morals to guide us. Don't expect equality & respect from people until you earn it. People who are continually being arrested for crimes will never be respected. WITN, surely Sgt. Joe Friday gave you a description of the robber, why do you always report stories without giving descriptions of the person(s)? I have a new story for you! Robbers hit fast food restaurant in Greeville. This is the 3rd time this chicken restaurant has been robbed in the last 6 months. No description of the perpetrators or details have been received. Put the facts out 2 or 3 days from now, but still omit the description of the robbers. SOUND FAMILIAR!

Amen to the 10,000th power. Furthermore, if welfare actually succeeded in its stated goal, the "service" would have been completed and the agency shut down decades ago.
