Greenville Community Members Honor First Responders On 9/11

Members of the American Legion Post 39 gave tribute to the first responders who were there on 9/11 today at a ceremony in Greenville.

Speakers there said they also wanted to thank the first responders who continue to be the first on the scene when disasters happen today.

Some officers, community member, and politicians attended the ceremony.

Many thought back to September 11, 2001 and where they were when the terrorist attacks occurred.

Rep. Walter B. Jones attended the ceremony and said, “How we came together, with all the pain, and hurt, America found a way to come together.”

Lawrence Hoffa with the American Legion also attended the ceremony and said, "It breaks my heart when I look at the men and women with no arms, no legs they come back with brain injuries after 10 years of this war. I just think its time to come home now."
