LAW: Greenville Chiropractor, Wife Nabbed In Pot Growing Operation

A Greenville chiropractor and his wife are accused of dealing marijuana out of their business and growing pot at their home.

Bret and Liebe Wickstrom are charged with trafficking marijuana, possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, two counts of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance and manufacturing marijuana.

Deputies say they searched Wahoo Tanning and I Heart My Spine chiropractic office on Highway 33 East Tuesday. They said marijuana was found at the business and at the couple's Winterville home. Deputies say they found a marijuana grow operation inside the home with over 20 plants and more than 11 pounds of pot seized. Street value of the marijuana is estimated at $25,000.

Bond for the Wickstroms was set at $50,000.

There is nothing contradictory about using Cannibus and having a healthy lifestyle. This blanket statement just highlights your ignorance on the subject.I for one use MJ AND do in fact live a healthy lifestyle.Speak not of things you know not,Paul. :)

What a way to ruin your life. I personally know Mr. Wickstrom and never imagined him doing this. How do you promote a business with a goal statement to promote healthy life without using prescriptions yet you grow "weed". Kind of Condtradict one another.

I see a few posts reminding us that pot is illegal and if we don't like it, talk to our "Congressman". Then there is the Tea Party. Again, what is REALLY REALLY sad, is that we ALL, OBVIOUSLY recognize, whether we are 'liberal' or 'conservative', no matter what side of a political debate we are on...is that our government is for sale to the highest bidder. We all realize our politicians become corrupted when they get into Congress if not before, they don't dare anger the people with money any more than WE do out in the general population, including on the local levels. Why do companies pay lobbyists? Why does lobbying work? Why do we even ALLOW our Congressional representatives to continually visit with professional lobbyists in DC on time the public has already PAID them for, not to mention all their 'travel' and 'living' expenses? I don't care WHO you are, once you get out into the working world, you figure out who has the money, and who has the power. Money is what 'talks'.

AGAIN...law enforces what it WANTS to enforce...if there is no money in it, it tends not to get enforced...if higher uppers don't want certain things and people to GET busted...informants? Yeah right. It IS about 'who' you know...and as long as we keep pot illegal, it just creates a very tempting and lucrative taxfree enterprise for everyone involved; and keeps certain government bureaucratic units operating and lining their own pockets while sucking up our tax dollars. from legal in goldsboro Location: everywhere on Dec 16, 2010 at 09:58 AM let's see we have a doctor growing some bud to do with(well who care's what he is doing with it)And here in goldsboro we have a roofing co.advertising in the yellow pages that I know is illegal mexicans and my police dept. wont do anything about it,doing their job I doubt that they are all picking the crimes they want to uphold.bust a doctor reposess his money, bust illegal mexicans running a roofing buisness in goldsboro nc and get nothing

For those that say, they broke the law...why yes they did. How many of us break 'laws' knowingly and unknowingly? Sometimes we get away with it, sometimes we don't. Don't pay your bills, someone will come take away your belongings. Don't pay your taxes, same thing? How many people nudge on their taxes? Give your employees 1099's so you won't have to pay additional taxes or unemployment insurance or worker's comp? Sympathize with the Tea Party movement, claim the government is not 'democratic' because you don't agree with the laws passed and choose to break the ones you want to when you wish? Be consistent. A nanny state is a nanny state; and if you want to take care of your neighbor's business at some point he's gonna have his nose in yours. While the politicians and the bureaucrats are enriching themselves and their friends while playing US off each other by using our own fears.

So, after all this hype about how 'users' are layabouts that don't contribute to society and all the hype about it being a gateway drug; here's a real life example that proves OTHERWISE. Additionally, to all of you that sympathize with the Tea Party and have no problem calling our President by all sorts of names, swallowing every conspiracy theory out there squawked by Beck, want your guns, are convinced that 'they' are out to get 'us' but you have no problem with 'them' out to get somebody else?? You scratch your head and wonder HOW so many illegals got here, WHY the illegal drug trade in the US is SO bad, and WHY the cartels have all but taken over Mexico? Here's ANOTHER conspiracy theory for you...why are only the SMALL dealers getting caught while the big guys continue ON? Why can we spend billions on Homeland Security grabbing people's crotches at airports, but we can't guard our own borders? Maybe because WE are not THEY...and THEY don't want to. Why? Nontaxable profit.

Some have said they were greedy and did this for the money and I heard they already had money. Anyone ever consider that they may have done this out of concern for the wellbeing of their patients?

You gave me the facts? Or was that your opinion? I'm having trouble distinguishing the two. Then you called everyone using an addict which is so far from any facts. What, where' and who are your sources of imfo or did you just make them up. Experience is much different than opinion.
