A Greenville Bojangles was the fourth fast food restaurant in Pitt County that was the scene of robbery or attempted robbery in the last six days. Authorities have yet to say if they are connected.

Police are still looking for two men who robbed the Bojangles on South Memorial Drive. Officers say the masked men both had handguns. They say they came into the lobby of the restaurant about 7:45 p.m. and demanded money- then one man jumped the counter and asked the manager to open the safe. The manager didn't get the safe open, but the suspect got away with money from the register and ran toward the Westhaven subdivision. Police say 7 employees were inside at the time, but no one was injured

Greenville police say last Thursday night there was an attempted robbery at the Popeye's restaurant also on South Memorial Drive. The next day police say the KFC/Long John Silvers on Greenville Boulevard was robbed. On Monday night the Bojangles in Farmville off of Highway 264 was robbed at gunpoint at around 9:30... Surveillance photos show all three were wearing masks and were armed.

No arrests have been made in any of the four armed robberies under investigation. Greenville police did arrest four armed robbery suspects Sunday after a hold up at the Food Lion on East Tenth St.

I work at a sonic in greenville. With all the robberies going on we have to be extra cautious because of the fact that we are going outside in the dark and sometimes out of sight to the other employees when taking out an order. it seems like these theives will rob anyone just for a hundred bucks or so. this makes me terrified whenever i have to go outside at night and i question every car i approach. taking out the trash should not enduce fear in someone, it's sad that greenville has gotten to this point.

Based on the many posts it would seem that there is referendum to add more police in Greenville. There are currently not enough to sit on every corner, so it seems the posters here are OK with their taxes being doubled (at the least) to hire new officers.

Gee golly Wizz - just how are the law officers suppose to do anything like catch the robbers IN thestores ?? they ARE " reactive" [THEY REACT TO A CRIME] there is NOT ENOUGH OFFICERS TO GO AROUND ~ PERIOD. Never was - Never is - never WILL BE. Can't have (it would be nice to have) a cop on every corner........ BUT = get a permit/learn how/ apply for/ CCW then the bad scumbags may get a nasty surprise TO ALL LEO's | BE caaareful out there

I used to go to ECU not too terribly long ago- and my goodness Greenville had turned into the HOOD. I'm so thankful that no one was hurt, but someone in the Police force or city council has GOT to step in. Not only is it a town filled with a great school and hospital, but a lot of us across the Nation has family that attends ECU- and its worry-some to know that a "hold up" at the 10th street food lion near student apartments, and at restaurants is becoming a common occurrence.

What we need is for a certain city council woman to hang out in these restaurants so she can witness firsthand what is going on. Then she will know what needs to be done. Of course she may break a few laws while she's waiting, but that will not matter since she is only interested in the public good.
