Arrest Made In One Of Two Greenville Restaurant Robberies

Armed robbers targeted two Greenville restaurants Thursday night and into Friday morning.

Mario McLawhorn is in the Pitt County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. Police say the 23-year old walked into the Waffle House at 810 S. Memorial Drive around midnight. They got the call at 12:06 a.m.

Police say three employees were inside when McLawhorn threatened them with a handgun and demanded cash. He took the entire cash draw and got away with $305.38. A short time later an officer spotted him nearby wearing all black. He was arrested.

Just two hours earlier police were dispatched to the Bojangles at 1632 Farmville Boulevard for a robbery in progress.

Police say two men walked in while several employees and customers were inside. One man had a handgun.

Witnesses tell police one jumped counter and went toward the office. The other went to register at the drive thru.

Both suspects were described as black men. The one with the gun was wearing a black jacket and pants. He's 5'6" to 5'7", 130-135 pounds. The second man is about 6' to 6'1", 200-215 lbs. He was wearing blue jeans with white shoes.

Police don't believe the two robberies were connected.

He's not a minister anymore I bet, and his job will be making license plates or working in the prison laundry.

Rob a fast food joint in Greenville and get labeled a Black thug. Rob the citizens of the US for a million dollars, while sitting behind a Washington DC desk, and you will be labeled a highly regarded politician. What is the difference between a Greenville thug, and Newt Gingrich or Wall Street?

Ask those folks as Solyndra. You remember those thugs. Took all that tax payer money to make themselves rich while never producing a single solar cell.

New Gingrich and Wall Street are part of the American fabric of what made this country great. The Greenville thug? Well, that just shows where your thinking lies, Max. Have fun on Occupy Wall Street, just don't get mugged.

We normally do a lot of shopping in Greenville around Christmas as well as other times. I suspect many businesses will find people like myself a Vanceboro resident going somewhere to shop. Where at least it seems safer.

ok keeping up with the times and trying to be like big cities is not working! We need to go back to simpler times. Stay home and cook for your family to keep them safe. I'm scared to leave my home fear of coming home to a jacked up door and everything we have worked for stolen from us because someone has a habit they need a fix for. Judges need to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. if we need bigger jails, take away from community beautification projects and build them. Communities will be a lot more beautiful with the thugs locked up so tax paying citizens can enjoy them. this is America what is happening to our freedom? Working paying taxes for communities we are afraid to enjoy. Law enforcement is doing their jobs, Judges Please do yours!

HA HA 305.00 that's funny, and what's even funnier is the fact that your cost of court will cost you more than that. Keep up the good work loser.
