Republicans won the majority of the local races in Craven County which is home to our current democrat Governor Beverly Perdue, so what do political leaders there think about the election of our state's first Republican Governor in 20 years? Former Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory will soon take Perdue's spot in Raleigh.

"We kept the senate seat, the judges that were elected, the school board, the two commissioners in Pamlico County we kept those so I think across the board we did very, very well yesterday in this district," said Norman Sanderson
(R) State Senator-elect for district 2.

"I'm just pleased that the election turned out as close as it did, and we still have an opportunity to move our state forward,"
said Bob Livingston with the Craven County Democratic Party.
