Good Samaritans Robbed By Man They Helped

Two teenagers at a mall, who thought they were being kind to a stranger ended up being robbed at gunpoint after they gave the person a ride.

Rocky mount police say the two teens were approached at the food court of Golden East Mall Friday afternoon by a man who said he needed a ride home. The two victims, a male and female, both 19, agreed and drove the man to the Jeffries Cove Apartments. That's where police say he got out of their car, pulled out a gun and demanded money.

Its unclear if he got any money before taking off on foot.

Unfortunately this is why I don't stop to help anybody. People are sorry as h*** these days. Used to be you could pick up a hitch hiker, stop to help someone fix a flat tire, etc. without having to worry about being robbed and/or killed.

Exactly Jerry. There are to many people in this world without remorse or decency. They will kill you and never think twice about it. They should consider themselves lucky they are still alive. It's a shame that it has to be this way.
