The Goldsboro singer who climbed her way up the ranks of fellow crooners on national television has made her way back home.
Singer Majesty Rose finished her run on the TV reality show "American Idol" within the top nine. With that standing, Rose will join the American Idol tour this Summer.
A celebration to welcome her home was held Thursday at the Family YMCA's Child Care Center on South Harding Street in Goldsboro.
WITN caught up with the finalist at the event.
She said, "It's good to see all the people that I've inspired. I guess people really didn't think that they could go far being in Goldsboro, but I'm glad I could be someone who shows them that that's not true."
Family, friends and community members attended the event.
Goldsboro Mayor Alfonzo King said, "Goldsboro isn't a huge city, but we do have an awful lot of people and they all know about Majesty. Her Majesty, I'm calling her now. We are so very proud of her and I told her she's already a winner."
An Eastern Carolina native could make it through another round of the popular show American Idol. We'll find out Thursday night.
On Wednesday's episode, the Top 12 contestants chose songs that reminded them of home.
Goldsboro native Majesty Rose chose Coldplay's "Fix You." Many said her performance was the best of the night.
WITN wishes Rose good luck to make it through to the next round!
