Southern Business & Development magazine has recognized the North Carolina Global TransPark as one of the top ten aviation and aerospace clusters in the South.
The magazine says the GTP is an emerging aerospace cluster market because of Spirit Aerosystems and the 500,000-square-foot facility operating there. Spirit is building center fuselages for the A350 Xtra Wide Body program. Other tenants at the Global TransPark include DB Schenker, Delta Private Jets, Henley Aviation, MJE Telestructure, Mountain Air Cargo and Spatial Integrated Systems.
GTP president Jim Fain said the SB&D recognition is yet another example of the GTP's growing momentum. "After becoming a North Carolina Certified Site just a couple weeks ago, this honor underscores the fact that the GTP is well positioned to meet the needs of growing aerospace and logistics companies"
SB&D is the South's only economic development magazine and targets executives in key markets outside the American South.
