Greenville Police released new information about two recent unsolved murders.

Greenville police say they are interviewing people of interest in the death of 64-year-old landlord, Michael Burgwardt. He was found dead inside an apartment he used as an office at Summer Place apartments November 20th.

They also believe they have a suspect in custody in the death of 36-year -old Leroy Staton. Staton was killed during what police believe was a drug related stabbing November 17th. They say he was stabbed in the parking lot of Jaycee Park.

Sgt. Carlton Williams isn't saying when an arrest will be made in the Staton case, or much about those being interviewed in the Burgwardt case right now.

"At this point it would jeopardize the investigation if we released that because some of the witnesses we're interviewing don't have full knowledge of everything going on, so if we revealed that, it would mess up the pieces that we are putting together. We do have a suspect. We're not ready at this point to file any charges on that suspect. We're still interviewing some people that can help us tie it all together," said Sgt. Carlton.

So far there have been five murders in Greenville this year.
