Four people were sent to the hospital after a crash involving several cars right in front of a fire station in Craven County Monday night.
A trooper on the scene in front of the Harlowe Volunteer Fire Department said a Dodge Caravan ran off the road after he lost control on a curve near Blades Road and Highway 101.
The trooper said the van hit a pole which snapped, and the cables from the pole hit two other cars. He says the van also hit the side of an out-of-business convenience store and a parked car in parking lot. That car was empty, but the driver of the van and three people from the other two cars on the road were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The trooper says the driver was not speeding and there were no other suspicious factors involved.
