Four Charged In Rocky Mount Copper Theft

Rocky Mount police have arrested four men who allegedly stole copper from ten vacant apartments.

Officers responded to the 500 block of Starling Way Wednesday afternoon after receiving a call of suspicions person walking around vacant apartments. When officers arrived, the four suspects fled on foot, but were later apprehended. After further investigation officers discovered the men had attempted to steal copper from the vacant apartments.

In custody at the Nash County Jail are Courtney Durham, 22, Tyrone Stewart, 24, Demetrius Williams, 26, and Richmond Fulmore, 24, all of Raleigh.

They were each charged with ten counts of felony breaking and entering, ten counts of larceny after breaking and entering, ten counts of damage to property and possession of burglary tools.

Durham, Stewart and Fulmore received $30,000 bonds. Williams received a $40,000 bond.

    These fine up standing pillars of the community stole $ 20.00 worth of copper but done thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of damage to the property. If they go to court I sure hope the judge with take in to account the total damage done if or when any justice is dispensed. I doubt it but one can hope.
