A high school student has been charged in the weekend crash that killed a classmate and injured two others.
The Highway Patrol says Marquise Brown turned himself in Wednesday and went before a magistrate who released him to the supervision of his father.
Trooper Tim Silance says Brown, who is 17, has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, reckless driving, exceeding safe speed for conditions and a violation of his provisional license.
The trooper says the crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Sunday on Rocky Run Road in Onslow County.
