Former New Bern Police Officer Arrested

The former internal affairs sgt. for the New Bern police department is facing charges of assault on a female.

Ernest Flowers, III currently holds the position of commanding officer of the New Bern Young Marines unit. Court records show the former New Bern police employee is facing a charge of assault on a female.

Dawn Nelson-Flowers is charged with simple assault.

Both have a court date scheduled for April 26.

Flowers was honored by the New Bern Police Department with the Presidential Volunteer Service award in January 2010 for his volunteer work with the Young Marines Unit.

    I have never in trouble myself, but i def. think the entire new bern police dept along with the lawyers and judges need to be investigated for fraud

      Miranda........read this again, and read the winterville article again. It was the idiot Greenville cop that was acting badly. As for NB is was a FORMER cop. He is NOT repeat NOT employed by New Bern Police Department. Guess you're on the WRONG side of the law.
