Former Marine Admits To Killing Wife

A former Marine charged with strangling his wife to death pleaded guilty Thursday morning.

Cody Richardson pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the death of his 21-year-old wife, Jessy, in September 2009 at their Jacksonville apartment.

Search warrants obtained by WITN News after the murder say that Richardson told 911 dispatchers that he wanted to turn himself in because he had "just killed my wife, two nights ago."

Police said Richardson's wife was strangled to death.

The judge sentenced the man to serve between 19 years, 9 months and 24 1/2 years in prison.
