A former police officer is behind bars after deputies say he fired shots into a home with 15 to 20 people inside.
Wayne County deputies have charged William Boseman, Jr. with discharging a firearm into occupied property.
It happened Sunday at Sussex Place, outside of Goldsboro where people had gathered to watch a pay-per-view fight on T.V.
The homeowner told deputies he had a dispute with Boseman at the home, and several people reported they heard the former officer say he would return with a firearm. Within 30 minutes, shots were fired into the home, but fortunately no one was hit.
Deputies say Boseman used to be an officer for Fremont. Town Administrator Kerry McDuffie says Boseman was a part-time police officer in Fremont from September 2010 until September 2011. McDuffie did not have information on why Boseman stopped working for Fremont police.
The 24-year-old Pikeville resident was jailed on a $50,000 bond.
