Shooting And Attempted Robbery Suspects To Appear In Court

Four people accused in a shooting and attempted robbery in Pitt County will make their first court appearances Monday.

Hakiem Ruffin, Armani Newkirk, Christopher Williams and Talaya Lucas will have their first appearances in Pitt County District Court. The Pitt County Sheriff says a fifth suspect is involved, but his name is not being released because he is 15 years old.

Officials say the suspects tried to rob a person inside a car in Grimesland near the intersection of Ariel Dr. and Silverado Dr. on September 10. A 15-year-old was shot during the carjacking, but survived.

"if it was me" "if it wasn't me" ..well obviously it isn't you or you wouldn't be sitting here condemning four people who have yet to be proven guilty by 12. last i checked only God can judge, what gives you the right to come up here and put them down? that just shows you are no better than they are apparently. it's easy for all of you to sit behind a computer screen and feel safe :).

Being in the wrong place ??? Sorry but today you need to know where you are. Dont even let them think of robbing me. It is time for people to protect themselves from these evil people. Also from what I have read someone needs to go back to school. Where are the parents of the kids, in prison?

It's amazing to me how so often a "relative" of the accused always seems to pop up on here making some petty threat or lame excuse justifying their actions.

If it was one of my family members I would be too ashamed of their actions to defend them on a public forum! Apples don't fall far from the tree! I wonder if any of the other defendants are using his wasn't me...but it sure was someone wasn't it? You should not be sticking up for family when they act like this! Support them, but don't stick up for them!
