Rip currents have caused multiple rescues Friday along one Crystal Coach beach.
Firefighters say Emerald Isle has had five different beach rescues.
The latest happened around 3:45 p.m. on Ocean Drive, between 18th and 19th streets.
Ben Bernarding, who shot the video, says five women were brought in after they appeared to be struggling in the water. He said two beach patrols with jet skis, and Emerald Isle police quickly arrived. One of the jet skis pulled the women to safety.
The fire department says all of the rescues Friday involved multiple people, with most of them swimming too far out from the shore. In all case everyone was okay.
There has been a moderate risk of rip currents along the Crystal Coast all day, and that will continue through Saturday.
