Fisheries License Sales Office To Close

The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries says it will close the Washington license sales office for an indefinite period on April 4

The license clerk position in the office is vacant due to a recent retirement.

Recreational fishermen may purchase licenses online at the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission website or from an N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission service agent.

Commercial fishermen may renew their licenses at any time at one of the other Division of Marine Fisheries license offices or through the mail.

Commercial fishermen can also call the Morehead City division headquarters to request an application packet.

check out the marine patrol's yards..........at least two SUV.s and two or more state boats in their yards. all provided by the taxpayers of NC. and look around in the parking lot of the fisheries license offices.......more state cars than people working there. Good to spend more so we can get more is the philosophy of Division of Marine Fisheries.

This must be one of the 10000 jobs that Gov Perdue is not going to fill. I must agree though, it does not make sense to have a place that sells only fishing license and then have other places (Walmart for example) that sell both hunting and fishing license.

It has to do with the budget cuts. The Div will cut these kind of services so the the public will sqeal, instead of cutting money to all of the environmental programs. You can bet they wont Lopp off any enforcement positions.
