First Boat Recovered From McCotters Marina

The recovery of boats burned in a fire at McCotters Marina in Washington this month got underway Tuesday.

Divers with Tow Boat U.S. spent about five hours bringing the 34-foot wooden boat Pandora to the surface. They say during the fire January 7th, the lines holding it to the dock burned, and it floated away. Divers say the damaged boat was stuck in mud. They hooked straps equipped with air bags to Pandorato bring it to the surface.

McCotters Marina says 25 other boats are still under water and will likely be recovered starting next week.

To Russ K i was just wondering. It was a tremendouse loss to a lot of good people and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of them. I just hope that there is not anyone trying to take advantage of any of these people during this long drawn out process.

Its being done by federals since it is not attributable to any one boat. Besides, I wouldn't want to inflict damages on someone who just lost their life's dream. I think it is taking more than just our Boat US in our area but multiple people.
