Fire & Rescue Members Wear Pink To Support Breast Cancer Awareness

A fire and rescue crew in the east is wearing pink for the month of October to raise money and awareness about breast cancer.

The Havelock Fire and Rescue Department is sporting and selling pink shirts for breast cancer awareness month.

This is the second year the department has been wearing and selling pink shirts that help raise money for the Carolinaeast Foundation Cancer Care Fund. This fund supports all cancer patients by providing resources for medications, transportation to therapy, respite for caregivers and more.

Havelock Fire Chief Rick Zaccardelli says they donated about $2,500 to the fund from this fundraiser last year.

Shirts can be purchased at the West Havelock Fire Department and at city hall.
