A documentary that tells the story of water contamination at Camp Lejeune that may have poisoned as many 1 million people is coming home for the Veterans Day weekend.
"Semper Fi: Always Faithful" will be shown Sunday at Northside High School in Jacksonville at 3:00 pm. The movie focuses on retired Master Sgt. Jerry Ensminger and his effort to find why his daughter Janey died at the age of 9 of leukemia.
The movie also will be shown Saturday at the Cucalorus Film Festival in Wilmington.
Fuel leaks and other sources of pollution contaminated the wells at Camp Lejeune before tests alerted officials to the problem. Health officials believe as many as 1 million people may have been exposed to tainted water before the wells were closed more than 20 years ago.
