Ferry Routes Suspended Due To Winter Weather

The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Ferry Division has suspended ferry operations at the Currituck and Pamlico River routes due to the snow.

The Swan Quarter to Ocracoke and Cedar Island to Ocracoke routes are shut down for the remainder of Sunday due to winds of 30 mph and gusting to 50 mph. There have also been some reports of icing on the ferry decks.

Operations will return to normal as soon as soon as the U.S. Coast Guard deems it safe to cross the rivers and sounds.
