People attending the 20th Annual Economic Forecast meeting in Craven County Thursday heard from guest speaker Richard Kaglic from the Charlotte office of Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.
Kaglic says there's not much difference between state trends and national trends. He says a disappointing area in our country's economic recovery is in the employment growth. There have been 2.5 million net new jobs created since the recession began, but nearly 8.8 million jobs were lost.
As far as the job market on a national scale goes, Kaglic says it's heading in the right direction but it's going to take a long time to get back to where it was.
