FedEx Employee Accused Of Stealing iPhones, iPad From Packages

A FedEx employee is accused of stealing high-priced phones out of packages bound for customers in the Greenville area.

Daniel Sacks is charged with six counts of larceny by an employee and one count of obtaining property by false pretense.

Pitt County deputies say the 22-year-old did barcoding at the FedEx facility on Northland Drive. They say Sacks would remove iPhones, an iPad and several other high dollar phones out of incoming packages. He is accused of then putting the packaging back into the boxes and shipping those empty boxes to customers.

The Sheriff's Office says they were tipped off by FedEx after customers started complaining of the empty boxes. Deputies say they are still investigating whether there might be more cases of similar theft.

WITN, at least get the company correct FedEx Ground is where this happened. Not to be confused with the rest of the Operating Companies at FedEx, Such as FedEx Express, Freight, and LTL.

Cash for Gold, stole your Gold, if they even pay you, they only pay about 20% of the going rate... next time go to a local jeweler, you'll get better money.

Yes what he did was wrong but who are you all to judge his family and him for the mistakes he made? It is his fault and his fault only and billstopay was right, hopefully he will get a second chance to prove to society that he made a mistake and he can make it right.

If he's just taking the rap, then he's stupid, which should be a jailable offense. If he did it, he should be in jail, it's not like it was food from the grocery store because his kids were starving. If he didn't do it, then case closed, he should be able to prove it and walk. If there were others and he doesn't give them up, then again, he's assisting in the commission of a crime and he should still go to jail. Don't see what the confusion is.

So that makes it right? Agree with earlier post about the 20something generation. I know crime has been around for centuries, but this sense of entitlement is sickening!! Earn it; don't steal it!!

Doesn't make it right but I don't think he should be crucified for it.

Ok, I heard that there were 3 guys. Guess what Fedex does not play with these people. They will all pay a big price for this. What makes people think they can get away with this?

Fedex doesn't pay well, and remember this was FedEx Ground, they are paid the lowest of all FedEx Operating Companies.
