Farmville Names Interim Town Manager

A familiar face in town manager roles in the east is coming out of retirement, for now.

Sam Noble has been named the interim town manager of Farmville, according Farmville mayor, Bobby Evans. Noble used to the be the town manager in Tarboro.

Mayor Evans says January 1, 2012 is the target date for Noble to start work.

Last week, Farmville town commissioners voted to terminate the contract of Jim Smith.

Noble just retired from the Tarboro town manager post in July. He also served as town manager of Plymouth and Edenton in the past.

Good Luck Sam. As for the negative comments answer me one question: How many municipalities in the state are debt free. I think Sam was a very good town manager.

Oh, get off your high horse. You were as critical of him as anybody else. You know you were.

Is this the same Janet that was the Finance Director that signed her name to all of the purchases that Sam made. If so no wonder you think he was so wonderful. You are just as guilty by covering up the hundreds of thousands of dollars he spent!!!!

The world according to Sam. He knows everything, your dumb as a brick. He gets the best of everything at your expense, you get the cheap hand-me-downs. Look out Farmville the King is coming.

What can I say? It's good to be the king.

This man's biggest problem was that no one ever told him "No." He is definitely guilty of abusing his power, but just as guilty are the mayor and town council for letting him get away with it.

Congrats Sam. Ignore what some have said. Many people find satisfaction in discrediting others. Especially when the person they are putting down is more successful than themselves.

Yeah well... the Town Of FARMVEGAS... charges a security deposit to your Utility Bill of around $280 if you are late twice in one year even though they never cut utilities to the house. This... on top of a $20 fee they charge for going past the cut off. I know many people out there will say "Well... pay your bill on time and you won't get charged these fee's"... you cant pay something if don't have the money until you get payed. It's hard on one income! I think its a scam to pocket money... just like the additional "Road Fee of $5" added to your vehicle tax. Guess he'll go along with all this too...

Try GUC or Pitt Greene and you'll see that their policies are much stricter than Farmville's. Not to sound offensive, but if you're having that much trouble paying your utility bill you might want to consider moving to a place that has a more reasonable rent/mortgage.

All municipalities get audited on a regular basis. The town brought in another independent auditor as well to look at the town's finances this year. Both auditors commended the town's smart spending. This was mentioned at several board meetings.
