FEMA advisors will be on hand at the Home Depot in Jacksonville on Thursdays to offer free rebuilding information.
Residents can learn how to strengthen structures for the future as well as mitigation techniques, such as reducing mold and mildew, protecting electrical systems, reinforcing structures against high winds and floods, and securing important personal property. Information on flood insurance is also available.
"This is something that FEMA offers for those affected by tornadoes, floods or hurricanes to just assist them and build safer houses," FEMA PIO, Don Daniel said.
FEMA mitigation advisors will be at the Home Depot on Western Blvd. in Jacksonville from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Monday. On Tuesday, they will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Advisors will also offer assistance at Lowe's Home Improvement in Fayetteville and Raleigh.
