Some residents and businesses in Richlands are being asked to boil there water after an outage this morning.
Crews are making emergency repairs along Wilmington Highway and water could be off through most of the day. Residents of Maidstone and Brookhaven subdivisions, East and West Hargett, East and West Foy, and North Wilmington Highway from Hargett to the town limits may have low or no water pressure during these repairs.
Once water is restored those residents and businesses will be asked to boil water for human consumption. ONWASA advises residents to boil water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or preparing food. There is no need to boil water for showering or bathing.
The boil water advisory will remain at least for 24 hours until lab testing shows there is no contamination in the system.
