Egypt Unrest Creates Scam Attempts

The ongoing political unrest in Egypt has given scam artists a new idea on how to get your money.

An email claiming to be from Mr. Mohammed Hammad says he is a political consultant to the Egyptian president. The email says he needs help to secure the resources of President Hosni Mubarek, now that the office of the president has been dissolved. The email then includes links to actual news stories about the power crisis in Egypt.

"The deal involves huge cash movement and liquidation of foreign and local investment," according to the email, which then asks for you to respond to get the ball rolling.

Anytime you get an unexpected email about a big payout someone wants to give you, it is more than likely a scam.

If I wasn't afraid that just opening the email would put a virus on my computer , I would send them a message back... " Sooooo, D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F that mubarek needs money?"

is this the same as the araqi money deal??? where you send them $50 U.S. dollars or money order and they fedex you back a 50,000 bill of araq $ saying in a few months that araqi $ is going to go up, up, up. So much, that your $50 US DOLLARS, will be worth $40,000 to $50,000 or more in US DOLLARS. i know of atleast 5 people that have bought in on this. 1 of these people had sent over $500 U.S. Im very sure its a scam and of course they believe they are going to go to an $ exchange bank two states away, in a few months, exchange $ 4 u.s. $, and retire. lol. so could someone tell me anything further on this. thanks
