Three people were hurt after a fire ripped through a condo this morning.
Morehead City fire crews responded to a fire at the Woodbriar Condos just after 3 a.m. Thursday morning, according to Morehead City officials.
The condominiums are located at 2720 Bridges Street in Morehead City.
Morehead City's fire chief says two residents received slight injuries and were treated at the scene while a police officer received smoke inhalation. The officer was also treated at scene.
Property manager Tiffany Fulcher says two units have fire damage, while others were damaged by smoke and fire. Eight families are going to stay somewhere else, at least temporarily, though she said it's not clear how many families would have to make a permanent move.
Fulcher said what started the fire is under investigation, adding she was relieved that everyone in the building escaped.
