Eastern North Carolina will remain in a stagnant but quiet weather pattern for the next few days. Overnight lows will drop into the 50s under mostly clear skies. Highs will reach the middle to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies on Wednesday afternoon. Most of the weather action for the next few days will stay to our west and south near a stationary frontal boundary. This boundary will remain far enough south and west to keep the showers and most of the clouds out of our region. An Air Quality Alert remains is in effect for most communities along and east of Highway 17 due to smoke from the Stumpy Point wildfire in Dare County. There will be a light breeze from the northeast over the next few days.
