Two Arrested For Attempted Armed Robbery Of Pizza Hut

Police in Washington say they have arrested two men with attempted armed robbery and conspiracy, and tell WITN News they are looking at whether this is connected to other recent robberies.

Multiple fast food restaurants have been robbed since Christmas in both Beaufort and Pitt counties.

Court records say the two tried to rob the night deposit bag from the Pizza Hut on West 15th Street. The warrants say the manager was threatened with a knife.

A police news release says around 10:30 p.m. they arrested Kevin Brown of New Bern and Michael Stocks of Washington. Both were charged with attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, while Stocks was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

The two were arrested on the scene as officers spotted suspected criminal activity. “We are aware of activity in many jurisdictions of similar nature," said Lt. William Chrismon. The lieutenant added they are now working with police in Greenville, Farmville and Williamston on these case.

Brown and Stocks were jailed on $25,000 bonds.
