Deputy Returns To Work, Civil Complaint Dropped

A Martin County deputy sheriff has returned to work after being placed on administrative leave with pay after a civil domestic violence complaint was filed against her. That complaint has been withdrawn by the complainant.

Deputy Christina Knox was never charged with any crime. But police say her son, estranged husband and current boyfriend faced charges in a different matter.

Lt. Drew Robinson says Knox, a 14-year veteran of the department, had been placed on leave given all the circumstances of what happened.

It's not clear yet whether Knox's son, Timothy Knox Jr., estranged husband, Timothy Knox Sr., or boyfriend, Jeffrey Davis, are still facing any charges.

Previous Story

A Martin County deputy sheriff has been placed on administrative leave with pay after a civil domestic violence complaint was filed against her.

Deputy Christina Knox has not been charged with any crime. But police say her son, estranged husband and current boyfriend are facing charges in a different matter.

Lt. Drew Robinson says Knox, a 14-year veteran of the department, was placed on leave given all the circumstances of what happened.

Lt. Robinson tells WITN Christina Knox and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Davis, went to meet her husband to drop off her daughter on Sunday in Williamston.

Lt. Robinson says the husband, Timothy Knox Sr., and Davis had an argument. Timothy Knox Sr. is accused of threatening Davis.

According to Lt. Robinson, that's when Timothy Knox Jr., who had been sitting in his father's car, got out of the car and started to assault Davis.

Lt. Robinson says Davis rolled up his window on Timothy Knox Jr.'s arm and pulled forward, then stopped and allowed him to get free.

Davis called 911 and filed a report against Timothy Knox Sr. for communicating threats and filed a report of assault and battery against Timothy Knox Jr.

After being served Monday, Lt. Robinson says the father and son then went to the clerk's office and filed the civil complaint against Christina Knox, along with assault with a deadly weapon and trespassing charges against Davis.

Lt. Robinson says the domestic violence complaint against the deputy was not connected to Sunday's situation, but was for a prior alleged incident as was the trespassing charge against Davis.

I am firmly convinced that half of the people east of I95 are mentally deficient. These posts prove my point. What is it about eastern NC. You have nothing better to talk about than Sissy's hair. What a bunch of losers. You people don't know what happened. I spoke with Sissy the other day and she thinks it's funny that all you idiots have to comment about is her hair. I hate this state and I am getting out of here soon as I can.

Pictures don't lie! No person could possibly be jealous. That is just a silly thing to say. Poor girl. I know she wishes they had chosen a different picture. She looks like a deer in head lights.
