Authorities are investigating an unusual robbery this week, where someone actually carved and hacked their way through a cinder block wall to get in.

The store's owner, ken Quran showed WITN where the thief or thieves got into his store Monday night into Tuesday morning through his cooler after he says they came through a cinder block wall from outside the 427 convenience store on Old River Road in Pitt County A detective, says the suspects walked through a back open door and used sledgehammers and crowbars to get in. Quran says he's been robbed before and wishes something more could be done to stop them.

"Sometimes with gun. Sometimes they break in. The main thing is the law needs to be tough on those kinds of people for real. When they get someone that rob you with a gun. They need to go 20 years in jail, simple and easy."

Quran says they stole merchandise and about $3,000 dollars in cash. The Sheriff's Office says they don't have any suspects.
