Deputies Arrest Four Suspects In Lenoir County Shooting

Deputies say a shooting Monday morning in Lenoir County was drug related and they have arrested four teens in the case.

Authorities say Julius Styles was found on the floor of his Old Poole Road home with two gunshot wounds just before lunch.

The four charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon are Cameron Hill, Tahj Simmons, John Dawson and Cody Pike, all of Kinston. The suspects are all 18 and 19 years old.

Deputies say Simmons shot Styles in non-life threatening areas to make him reveal where he may have drugs and money hidden. After shooting the man the four left the home.

They were arrested Monday night around 10:00 p.m. and all are jailed on $750,000 bonds.

Deputies in Lenoir County are investing a shooting that was discovered late this morning.

A news release says Julius Styles was found on the floor of his Old Poole Road home with two gunshot wounds.

Deputies say they believe the shooting happened in the early morning hours, while it wasn't reported until shortly before noon. Vidant Medical Center says Styles was in fair condition Monday evening.

The Sheriff's Office says they have developed multiple suspects in the shooting, along with a possible motive but so far no arrests have been made.
