Daycare Owner Faces Drug Charges

A daycare owner and operator in Mount Olive is facing charges after police say they caught her with cocaine.

Goldsboro police say they served outstanding warrants on 62-year-old Betty Williams late Thursday night, for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive and resisting public officer.

Police say they discovered Wiggins had cocaine in her purse, along with drug paraphernalia. She's now charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Wiggins was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.

A state web site says Totville University Daycare has a 3 Star rating from the state and is licensed for 29 children. The last inspection was done on January 6th, 2010 and found no violations.

I understand that being family you may be upset with the comments of the public but you can't fight the world. People are going to talk and comment it's part of the first amendment"freedom of speech" so let her prove her innocence/guilt in court and stop trying to fight the world babygirl. Why bother reading what people post it will only distract you from your mother and at this time this is when she needs you the most!

FYI NO GRANTS WAS TAKING OUT FOR THIS BUSINESS THAT CAME FROM HER WORKING ALL HER LIFE..SO MIND YOUR BUSINESS AND STOP HATING...EVERYONE ELSE THAT KEEPS PRINTING MY NAME HOW ABOUT SEEING ME???

Why was her purse searched? Unless she was being taken into the detention center, what was the probable cause to allow for her personal affects to be searched? Kinda seems funny you know, she can get searched because of an outstanding driving violation, but it took several weeks for the TPD to get into a residence to look for a missing woman. Just sayin.

One look and you can see that some people don't care who watches their kids.

If I walked in to a daycare and saw this woman, I would turn around and walk right back out. Drugs or no drugs, that's a face that could scare children and small animals.
